Math 3 Slide
Show
Lessons
These lessons were created on
a PC using Windows XP and PowerPoint 97. The PC lessons work
fine on all the Windows versions of PowerPoint as long as
MathType 5.2 has been installed. MathType is an application
that works seemlessly within PowerPoint to write complex
mathematical symbols, expressions, equations, and
inequalities. Without MathType 5.2, not all of the equations
can be read and parenthesis can show up as giant block
letters. A free
30 day trial of MathType 5.2 is offered on the Design
Science website and the equations can still be read after
the 30 day trial period is over. However, its purchase is
highly recommended if you plan to edit these lessons or
write your own lessons.
MathType 5.1 for the Mac has recently been
released and reads all previous versions of MathType and
Equation Editor for PC or Mac. It also works well with
PowerPoint OSX. If you are using PowerPoint 2004, you will
need to visit the
Design
Science web site to download the free upgrade version of
MathType 5.1 because the MathType version 5.0 is not
compatible with PowerPoint 2004 for Mac.
These lessons will work on
any system or platform that will run the following versions
of PowerPoint and MathType.

MathType 5.2 for Windows
MathType 5.2 is a new version of Design Science's
MathType mathematical equation editing software for Windows
95, 98, 2000, Me, NT, and XP. Its users include math and
science teachers preparing tests and other classroom
materials, college students preparing papers, college
faculty preparing tests, classroom materials, research
papers, Web pages, and presentations, and scientists and
engineers in industry and academia.
MathType 5.2 is an OLE 2.0 object server, allowing equation
objects to be placed in documents created by any application
that supports OLE, including word processors, page layout
programs, presentation programs, databases, graphing
programs, etc. It also can produce equations as Windows
metafiles (WMF), Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), Graphics
Interchange Format (GIF).
MathType 5.1 for Macintosh
Design Science MathType™ 5 for Mac is the most important
release since MathType 1.0. It has many new features and
enhancements, and they've added an enormous amount of
functionality that effectively transforms Microsoft Word
into a state-of-the-art math word processor and web page
editor. One remarkable new feature is the new MathPage™
technology, that will transform your Microsoft Word
documents into web pages with great-looking math. They're
excited to introduce a MathType built for Mac OS X, which
also runs on OS 9. This new version is also compatible with
MathType for Windows, and works with all popular major word
processors, presentation, page layout programs and
HTML-authoring tools.
Office 2004 for Macintosh: MathType 5.1 supports
Microsoft Office 2004. Earlier versions of MathType do
not support Office 2004.
